Friendship Signature Workshop

Have you ever stopped to think about how you choose your friends?

Many teenage girls struggle to find meaningful friendships and navigate the complexities of social relationships.

Friends are a crucial part of our lives and can have a lasting impact on mental health, happiness, and overall wellbeing.

During puberty, it is especially important to have supportive friends around to help overcome the dramatic changes that come with each new stage of physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

In this workshop for teens aged 12-17, we will explore why having friendships is important, how to be a good friend during this challenging period in life, the differences between having close BFFs versus a wide circle of acquaintances and friends, and strategies for handling conflicts with peers.

Through activities such as group discussions, writing exercises and interactive games, participants will develop key social skills that can be used when making new connections or strengthening existing ones.

To help these young women, a workshop centered around building positive friendships is a great place to start.

Role Models

Role models can play an important role in helping young people learn how to build and maintain healthy relationships with their peers. Having an example of how successful, positive friendships look and function can help children better understand the dynamics of being a good friend. From understanding emotions, controlling impulses, expressing feelings, and resolving conflicts, role models can provide valuable insight into navigating these issues through thoughtful dialogue and appropriate behaviour. Seeing adults demonstrate effective communication skills will motivate teens to take their relationships to the next level and serve as a daily reminder that building meaningful connections takes effort but is worth it in the end.
